Pilates and Open Ballet Workshop this Sunday, June 7th with Special Guest Instructors!

Caltech Ballet is offering a unique workshop applying the science of stabilization and dynamic movement of Pilates to the art of Ballet. Pilates + Ballet: Art Meets Science will be held at Caltech's Braun Gym at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 7.

In this 2.5-hour workshop, Pilates Master Trainer Kathy Braidhill of Pilates Pasadena will explain the stabilizating substructure of muscles that create artistic alignment and whole-body movement.

Then you will use these techniques in an open-level ballet class taught by International Ballet Master Instructor Preston Li (Preston Li's Academy of Dance) and fine-tune your technique.

Whether you've never danced or want to enhance your skills as a pre-professional, this unique workshop will prep you for the barre, polish your pirhouettes, and increase your flexibility while preventing injuries.
And be prepared to move; this is an active workshop!

Remember, all Caltech Ballet classes and workshops are open to the public so you do not have to be a Caltech student to attend.

The fee for the entire 2.5-hour workshop is:
$5 for Caltech students (with ID)
$15 for non-affliates (or $6 for Pilates only and $9 for Open Ballet only)

*If you have class cards, you may use your Beg. Ballet class card to pay for the 1st hour of this workshop (Pilates) and the Int/Adv. Ballet class card to pay for the second part of the workshop (Open Ballet).
