Class this Sunday (Jan 18) and Caltech Dance Show announcement!

Hi all,

Dance classes will be held as usual this Sunday, Jan 18 2015:

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Beginning Ballet with Aileen Hui

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM - Intermediate Ballet with Heather McCaig

Now, it’s Caltech Dance Show season! The annual Caltech Dance Show
provides an opportunity for dance clubs and individuals in the Caltech
community to showcase their work on a stage. The 2015 Caltech Dance Show
will be on the evenings of April 17th and 18th. Every year, Caltech Ballet
performs a piece in the show and we encourage anyone who is interested to
participate (all levels are welcome, including absolute beginners!). We’ve
had many beginner students perform in our piece every year and everyone
has a great time. If you are interested in performing in a group piece
with Caltech Ballet, please come to class this week — if you are unable to
come to class this week but are interested in performing with us, please
shoot us an email. The requirements for performing with us are:

1. You must attend all rehearsals, which will most likely take place
during/after the intermediate level class on Sundays from ~12:00-1:00 PM.
If for whatever reason you are unable to make a rehearsal, you must let us
know ahead of time and we require that you miss no more than 2 rehearsals.

2. You must be available on both days of the show (April 17 and 18) as
well as the tech and dress rehearsals (which will most likely take place
on the evenings of April 15 and April 16, but the date is TBD).

3. You should also try to make at least one of our classes every week on
Sundays (either beginning level or intermediate level), as we will be
incorporating steps that we will use for the piece in our exercises.

The Caltech Dance Show is always fun and low-key and performing on stage
will take your dancing to a whole new level. Again, beginners are totally
welcome to participate so please don’t be shy :).

Happy dancing and we look forward to seeing you at rehearsals!

(Reminder: You do not need to have a gym membership to enter the gym to
take ballet classes with the Caltech Ballet Club and you no longer have to
pay an entrance fee even if you are not a student/faculty/staff of
Caltech.)
